You can delete your DTX account and the personal data associated with it at any time, directly from the app. Because DTX is built on accountability, deleting your account — just like signing out — is partner-approved while a block is active, so it can never be used as a shortcut out of a commitment you've made.
In the DTX app, tap your profile icon to open the Profile screen.
Scroll to the Settings section and tap Delete Account, below the Sign Out option.
If a block is active or you have a connected partner, your deletion request is sent to your accountability partner for approval. They're notified instantly and can approve or deny it — exactly like an early unblock request. With no active blocks, deletion proceeds straight away.
Once approved, confirm the deletion. Your account and associated data are then permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.
The Profile screen, with Sign Out and Delete Account both gated by partner approval during an active block.
DTX's entire promise is that a block can't be bypassed in a weak moment. If you could simply sign out or delete your account whenever the urge struck, that would be the easiest bypass of all — and the commitment you made would mean nothing.
So while a block is active, both signing out and deleting your account require your accountability partner's approval, in the same way an early unblock does. The moment you have no active blocks, you're free to sign out or delete your account on your own, with no approval needed.
Partner approval exists so the version of you that set the block stays in control — not the version that's looking for a way out. It's the same principle that makes DTX work in the first place.
When your deletion is confirmed, we permanently remove the personal data tied to your account, including:
| Data | What it is |
|---|---|
| Account details | Your email address, display name, and authentication record |
| Block configurations | Every block you've created, along with schedules and presets |
| Block & request history | Past blocks, unblock requests, and partner decisions |
| Usage insights | Screen-time statistics and most-used-app data |
| Partner connections | Links between your account and any accountability partners |
| Notification tokens | The device token used to send you push notifications |
If you've lost access to your device and can't delete your account from within DTX, you can request deletion by email instead. We'll verify your identity against your registered account before processing.
